A custom-built platform, not an off-the-shelf quiz plugin

The Quiz Box is a quiz platform built entirely from scratch. There is no template, page builder or third-party quiz plugin underneath it. Every part was designed and developed around how people actually run a quiz, whether that is a pub quizmaster, an office organiser or a family at Christmas. It brings three products together in one place: free quizzes that mark your answers as you type, ready-made quiz packs to download and print, and live interactive quizzes where a whole room plays along on their phones. One account covers all three, and signing in is done by email link, so there are no passwords to forget.

Interactive group quizzes on everyone's phones

The centrepiece is live hosting. The host puts the quiz on a TV, laptop or projector, and the screen shows a QR code and a join code. Players scan it, pick a name or team name and they are in. There is no app to download and nothing to install, and up to 100 players can join a single game. Each question appears on the big screen and on every phone at the same moment, with a countdown the host sets anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds. Players tap an answer, or type it if the host prefers, and right answers score between 500 and 1,000 points depending on how quickly they come in. After every question the room sees the correct answer and a live leaderboard. Scoring runs on the server rather than on the phones, so answers never reach a player’s device before the reveal and nobody can peek. Hosts can also build their own quiz by picking questions and setting the rounds, and anyone who has bought a quiz can play it solo in a game-show mode against the clock, with their best score saved to beat next time.

A shop that runs itself, built to be found

Quiz packs are sold through a secure Stripe checkout from £4.99, with Quiz Box Unlimited at £9.99 a month or £79.99 a year for regular hosts. The download is ready the moment payment clears: a host pack with every question and answer, team answer sheets and, in many packs, a picture round. Buying a pack also unlocks hosting it live for 30 days. Subscriptions, downloads, hosting access and customer accounts all run automatically, so the platform can take an order at eleven on a Friday night and have that customer hosting a live quiz minutes later. The free quizzes do the marketing. Every page was mapped to the searches it needs to answer before it was built, from general knowledge, music and sport questions to seasonal quizzes for Christmas and Halloween, alongside planning guides for pub quiz nights, games nights, office quizzes and hen dos. Each free page leads naturally into the full paid version. The design is bold editorial meets playful British quiz night: credible enough for a pub to buy from, and playful enough for a family Christmas quiz. Pages are pre-built and served from the edge, so they load quickly on a phone in a busy pub.
